At 16:35 on Thursday, 29 September, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Coalport.

4 fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
