The foam unit carries all of the equipment and foam concentrate required to produce large amounts of foam.

It is used to deal with large fires, where the use of water would be ineffective or unsafe eg aircraft fires, petrol spillages etc. Normally crewed by two firefighters, but also requires a supporting fire engine to go with it.

  • 4 x 1000 litre (264 gallons) containers of foam
  • Inductors – a device that allows foam to be created through the delivery hose
  • Attends large fires where a lot of foam is required ie. factory fires
