The Fire Authority's Mission ensures that Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service exist to:
Save life, protect property and the environment and reduce the risks from fire

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service currently:

provides a service to approximately 453,000 people in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin |
|
maintains 4 wholetime stations and 19 retained stations |
|
employs approximately 590 staff |
|
attends approximately 8,000 calls per year (Figures for 2007/2008) |
|
Fits more than 17,300 smoke alarms per year (Figures for 2006/07) |
|
Carries out upto 18,702 Home Safety Risk Assessments per year (targets for 2006/07) |
