This, the second IRMP document, has been able to further develop the Fire Authority's IRMP strategy, demonstrating how it intends to progress over the next few years.

Appendix A - Station Risk Information to the IRMP includes a lot of detail about Shropshire's fire stations and the risk from dwelling fires across the whole of Shropshire.
The proposals contained in this year's Action Plan are likely to impact on the level of community safety work undertaken by the service across the whole of the county in the short term, as well as how our fire appliances are distributed in the Shrewsbury area in the longer term.
These documents were subject to more than three months of extensive consultation with the public of Shropshire, other stakeholder organisations and our staff, between August and November 2004. The feedback obtained from the consultation process is available in the 'Consultation documents' section. This feedback was duly considered by the Fire Authority at its meeting on 15 December 2004, with minor amendments to the original consultation documents being formally agreed.
The Fire Authority is now ensuring the various projects stipulated in the Action Plan 2005/06 are implemented in accordance with the prescribed timetable.
