The Programme Office is a corporate function which offers support and guidance in adherence with nationally prescribed standards and recognised areas of best practice including:
- Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)
- Projects in Controlled Environments (PRINCE2)
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Management of Risk (MOR)
In addition the department co-ordinates and supports Performance Audits and Assessments, Performance Management Processes, Information Management (including freedom of information requests), Partnership Assessment Group, Programme and Project Management processes and the production of statistics for performance reporting purposes.
The Programme Office also assists Policy Group in the co-ordination of the strategic planning process and the subsequent publication of the Fire Authority’s over arching corporate Performance Plan. Ensuring performance against the Plan is reported to both Policy Group and the Audit and Performance Management Committee (A&PMC).

The Programme Office is managed by Assistant Chief Fire Officer Steve Worrall, who leads a trained and experienced team comprising Ged Edwards, Alison Pritchard, Helen Jones, Louise Goodhead and Kate Langford.
