Abandoned vehicles

With the fall in value of used motor vehicles and scrap metal values, a significant rise in the numbers of abandoned vehicles is occurring both locally and nationwide.

Vehicles that are abandoned are a safety hazard in particular to children but also to the population as a whole. Such vehicles are also a problem for the fire service when they are set on fire resulting in unnecessary fire calls. The Council is working with the DVLA, Shropshire County Council, the Police and Shropshire Fire and Rescue.
