Equality and diversity
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is committed to achieving equality throughout the organisation, and in all of the services we provide. We are working to create an inclusive environment, placing equality of opportunity and diversity at the heart of all our activities.
We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination on any grounds, and are committed to eliminating discrimination and promoting a diverse workforce. This is supported through our policies and working in partnership to achieve this.
Fire Service Equality Framework
We are among a handful of Fire and rescue Services which achieved Level 4 out of a possible five in the national Local Government Equality Framework. This has now been replaced by a specific Fire Service Equality framework, in which we are ranked as ‘moving towards excellent’.
