Car destroyed in arson attack following Shropshire burglary

Burglars who sneaked into a Shropshire home and stole a car from the drive, set fire to the vehicle a short time later.

The blue VW Passat, registration number S4BAB, was taken from a house in Brownlow Crescent, Ellesmere after thieves entered through a back door and stole the keys.
An Acer Aspire lap top and two watches were also stolen from the premises in the early hours of Saturday.

The car was abandoned and set on fire at round 2.15am Saturday 6th July 2013 in a lane near Penybryn Crescent, Whittington.

Police are now appealing for information. A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “If anyone spotted suspicious activity at either location in the first hour or two of Saturday morning, please contact the police by calling 101”.
