Aim 1: The undertaking of an international comparative analysis of rescue techniques and associated training undertaken by SFRS and the Hungarian fire and rescue services

Aim 1
- To review and compare the technical rescue provision offered by SFRS and Hungarian fire and rescue services
- To review and compare the resourcing arrangements necessary to undertake rescue operations in the SFRS and Hungary
- To review and compare the training arrangements to support rescue operations in the SFRS and Hungary
- To review and compare the cultural, economic, social and legislative factors that influence rescue provision in the UK and Hungary
- To identify areas of best practice in the area of rescue performed by Hungarian fire and rescue services
- To make recommendations to management boards of the HFA and SFRS arising from the study
Aim 2
- The preparation and provision of a fully equipped and serviced rescue tender
- The planning and coordination of cost effective transportation for both the vehicle and team from Shrewsbury, Shropshire to Budapest, Hungary
- The preparation and delivery of training packages to the recipient Hungarian fire service, to include:
a) Care and maintenance of the provided vehicle and rescue equipment
b) Health and safety
c) Effective use and correct deployment of the equipment provided
- Adherence to the Local Government Act XXX (Overseas Assistance)
Aim 3
- To support the participants in training and further training activities, in the acquisition and the use of knowledge, skills and qualifications to facilitate personal development, employability and participation in the European Labour Market
- To support improvements in quality and innovation in vocational education and training systems, institutions and practices
- To enhance the attractiveness of vocational education and training and mobility for employers and individuals and to facilitate the mobility of working trainees
- To improve the quality and to increase the volume of mobility throughout Europe of people involved in initial vocational education and training and in continuing training, so as to increase placements in enterprises to at least 80,000 per year by the end of the Lifelong Learning Programme
- To improve the quality and to increase the volume of cooperation between institutions or organisations providing learning opportunities, enterprises, social partners and other relevant bodies throughout Europe
- To facilitate the development of innovative practices in the field of vocational education and training other than at tertiary level, and their transfer, including from one participating country to others
- To improve the transparency and recognition of qualifications and competences, including those acquired through non-formal and informal learning
- To encourage the learning of modern foreign languages
