What we do ^ Top

Our staff will engage in activities ranging from design stage risk reduction with architects and designers, through to the enforcement of statutory regulations in occupied buildings. In addition, we will offer guidance to building developers, owners and others within the business community in the form of specific advice or with publicity and education campaigns to ensure a clear understanding of, and compliance with, fire safety legislation.

Fire Safety Policy ^ Top

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service’s (SFRS) Brigade Order Fire Safety No 2 sets out the policy and principles which it intends to follow.

It provides guidance for fire safety enforcement officers, businesses and members of the public and is intended to clearly set out the aims, standards and values that will be applied. In order for enforcement to be fair and transparent, it is important that the basis on which enforcement decisions are made is known by all those involved.

We aim to provide a consistently high quality service to the commercial/business community in relation to our local community safety targets and technical/legislative fire safety matters in accordance with the Enforcement Concordat as published by the Better Regulation Unit of the Cabinet Office. Details of our Community Fire Safety ‘Prevention/Protection’ Business Plan are available on request and on our website at www.shropshirefire.gov.uk.
