Access keys
|
Access keys can be used throughout our site and are intended to help users who have difficulty in using pointing devices such as a mouse, or who prefer to use keyboard shortcuts.
There are no agreed standards for the use of access keys, but we have followed the UK Government guidelines as much as possible.
Access keys can be implemented by using the following methods, which are different depending on the operating system you are using:

On Windows machines press ALT + the specific access key, then press ENTER |
| • |
On Macintosh machines press CTRL + the specific access key, then press ENTER |

| How to use access keys with your internet browser |

Access keys have been supported by Internet Explorer since version 4 and by Netscape since version 6. Older browsers do not support access keys and will just ignore them.

Internet Explorer 4: Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key |

Internet Explorer 5+: Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key, then press ENTER |

Internet Explorer 4.5 for Mac: Access keys are not supported |

Internet Explorer 5+ for Mac: Hold down the CTRL key and select the number/letter of the access key |
| • |
Netscape 6+: Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key |
| • |
Mozilla: Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key |
