Publication Scheme

What is a publication scheme and why it has been developed?

One of the aims of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (which is referred to as FOIA in the rest of this document) is that public authorities should be clear and proactive about the information they will make public. To do this they must produce a publication scheme, setting out:

Bullet icon The classes of information which they publish or intend to publish;
Bullet icon The manner in which the information will be published; and
Bullet icon Whether the information is available free of charge or on payment.

The Authority's publication scheme consists of information already published and held by the Authority or information which is to be published in the future. That means that all information in our publication scheme is either available for you on our website to download and print off or available in traditional document form.

The Publication Scheme will indicate which documents are free and the costs of those we make a charge for.

Some information which we hold may not be made public, for example information about national security or court records. Likewise some documents may include exempt information, so you will only receive the information, which is not exempt.

Further details about our Publication scheme can be found in the attached PDF document.
