The vision and mission are articulated within the Fire Authority's five Strategic Aims, supported through an aligned suite of associated Corporate Objectives.

These corporate objectives are the subject of frequent review to ensure the Fire Authority's initiatives are aligned to the environment in which it operates.

Corporate Objectives for STRATEGIC AIM 1
1. Reduce the incidence of deaths and injuries in the community
2. Reduce the incidence of fires and false alarms
3. Ensure the effective enforcement of fire safety legislation
Corporate Objectives for STRATEGIC AIM 2
4. Ensure the provision of an appropriate risk based approach to fires
5. Ensure the provision of an appropriate response to non-fire emergencies
6. Minimise the effect of our intervention actions on the environment
Corporate Objectives for STRATEGIC AIM 3
7. Maintain and improve the health, safety and welfare of all members and employees
8. Ensure that all members and employees are competent and able to perform their role
9. Ensure the provision and availability of appropriate equipment, resources and supplier support
Corporate Objectives for STRATEGIC AIM 4
10. Promote a partnership approach in pursuance of continuous improvement, having regard to a combination of economy, efficiency and effectiveness
11. Ensure the provision of a service that meets the needs of the community
12. Ensure the effective management of performance and corporate risk
13. Reduce the environmental impact of our daily conduct
Corporate Objectives for STRATEGIC AIM 5
14. Provide a fair and equitable service to the communities of Shropshire and other stakeholders
15. Provide a fair, equitable and dignified place of work for all employees and visitors
16. Seek to employ a workforce representative of the community that we serve.
