Technical Services

 
The Technical Services Department has achieved the prestigious ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Standard.

This is the international quality standard for organisations aiming to provide a service that meets the requirements of their customers, stakeholders and applicable regulation, and who want to continue to improve their performance.

ISO 9001

The department has passed an audit by the British Standards Institution and are registered by them.


The Quality Management System covers the following activities, which form the scope of registration:

Management of assets including vehicles, equipment, hydrants and property
Procurement and supplier management
Design and modification of equipment and services


The system includes the following activities covered by the registration but not specifically stated in the scope:

Service and repair of appliances, vehicles and associated equipment
Product evaluation and research
Internal management systems including identification of services, document control, performance monitoring & management, and training


The system also includes the following activities which are not covered by the registration:

Minimisation of the Services environmental impact - this cannot be formally registered to ISO9001:2000 because it is the subject of the separate ISO14001:2004 standard
