Emergency Evacuation

  What to do in an Emergency >
 
 
Evacuation of property will only happen in extreme circumstances
 

If you are asked to evacuate:

Bullet icon Don't panic - remain calm - stop to think!
Bullet icon Act speedily
Bullet icon Check on neighbours - do they know?
Bullet icon Respond to instructions from the emergency services
Bullet icon Report to the specified location and await further guidance
Bullet icon Special arrangements will be made for the care of the sick and the elderly
Bullet icon Use the checklist on this page


Evacuation checklist:

Bullet icon Gather family and pets together
Bullet icon Turn off gas, water, electricity and all household appliances
Bullet icon If you have time, make sure open fires are put out, or at least guarded
Bullet icon Get together warm clothing and sleeping bags, blankets or duvets
Bullet icon Get together medicines in use and special foods for babies - and remember food for pets!
Bullet icon Secure and lock your property
Bullet icon Do not return home until you are told to do so
Bullet icon On your return, do not use gas or other appliances unless you know it is safe to do so
