Family Safety

Remember to keep your family safe

FIT A SMOKE ALARM

You are much more likely to die in a fire in your own home if you DO NOT have a working smoke alarm

A smoke alarm can give you those precious few minutes of warning which could help you and your family to get out safely.

Smoke alarms are a safety device. Every home should have one, preferably one on each floor. Smoke alarms should be properly maintained.

Every week CHECK the battery in your alarm by pressing the button to test
CHANGE THE BATTERY EVERY YEAR
(Unless fitted with a 10-year battery)
VACUUM INSIDE of the alarm to ensure the dust is not blocking the sensors.

REMEMBER
Make your home safe for children

Never leave your children alone in the house
Keep all matches and lighters out of the reach of children
Never assume infants are incapable of lighting a match or lighter
