At 09:55 on Tuesday, 5 April, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Chimney Fire in Newport.

3 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform were mobilised from Newport and Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Chimney rods
• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

1 chimney fire within 2 storey domestic property. Crews extinguished using the Aerial Ladder Platform and chimney rods.
