At 18:10 on Sunday, 7 August, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Market Drayton, Newport and Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

1 combine harvester that had caught alight crews used hose reel jets to extinguish.
