Tanker Fire

At 07:45 on Thursday, 6 September, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Tanker Fire.

9 fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit, the Foam Pod and the Incident Command Unit were mobilised from Albrighton, Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Much Wenlock and Tweedale. Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Environment Agency, the Highways Agency and a utility company.

Incident involved one fuel tanker on fire. Eight appliancs, specialist crews and four officers attended the incident. Crews brought the fire under control using 3 hose reel jets, 1 main jet with foam and 4 breathing apparatus. Crews are currently cooling tanker down with 3 hose reel jets, 1 main jet and foam. All other necessary utility companies and services were informed of this incident.
