At 13:28 on Thursday, 25 July, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Oakengates.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks

Dry cut grass approximately 5m x 3m alight.
