At 17:32 on Saturday, 7 September, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Whitchurch.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit and the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Wellington and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

One horse released from ditch using animal rescue equipment. Vet also in attendance.
