At 09:18 on Sunday, 18 April, 2021, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Tee Lake, Shawbirch, Wellington .

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Injured swan marooned on boggy ground at lake. Swan rescued by fire service personnel using water first responder equipment and in care of animal rescue centre personnel.
