At 20:53 on Monday, 8 August, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire Commercial in Knighton.
8 fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit, the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Albrighton, Church Stretton, Clun, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Telford, Telford Central and Tweedale. Operations, Hazmat, Safety and Principal officers were in attendance.
Fire at a scrap yard involving one 20x30ft steel frame building, approximately 8 scrap vehicles and several hundred tonnes of scrap rubbish. 8 Fire appliances plus special appliances mobilised to the incident with assistance also provided by Hereford & Worcester Fire Service and Mid & West Wales Fire Service

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- 9/10.5m ladder
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Covering jet
- Electric Saws/Cutters
- Hosereel jet
- Small gear
- Triple/Short extension ladder
Fire involving generator in single storey building. Crews used Breathing apparatus, hose reels, covering jets and 1 misting lance to extinguish the fire.

Reports of an automatic fire alarm which was found to be caused by a small fire in ventilation tubing. Crews cut away the burnt areas and used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hosereel jet.

Fire involving 2 storey brick building. Building approximately 20 m x 50 m fully involved in fire. 2 main jets in use to extinguish fire. Aerial ladder platform and water bowsers in attendance to assist with firefighting operations.
