At 14:28 on Saturday, 27 August, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Oswestry.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Reports of fire in the open. Fire involved 2 separate seats of fire. Primary fire measured 60 x 10 metres of hedgerow and verge. Secondary fire measuring 30 by 10 metres of hedgerow and verge. Fire crews used 2 hose reel jets and thermal image camera.
