At 17:56 on Monday, 27 February, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Chimney Fire in Weston Rhyn.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Oswestry.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Chimney rods
• Stirrup pump
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire within chimney flue with hot embers falling into hearth. Crews using stirrup pump and chimney rods to extinguish. Temperatures being checked using a thermal imaging camera.
