At 18:32 on Thursday, 13 July, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Newport and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire in grain dryer extinguished by farming crew emptying grain within confined space. Crews used hosereel jet to cool area and thermal imaging camera used to check temperatures.
