At 15:22 on Wednesday, 16 August, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Field Of Straw in Shrewsbury .

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Much Wenlock and Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Hosereel jet

Fire involving approximately 30 x 100 meters of straw and stubble. Beaters and 4 hose reel jets used to extinguish.
