At 23:17 on Wednesday, 27 March, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Newport.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Newport and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Reports of fire in kitchen which proved to be leak of gas from fridge. Fire crews removed fridge from property and advised occupier to have electrician attend to check electrics
