At 19:25 on Wednesday, 24 April, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Knapsacks

Reports of fire in the field which was found to be a discarded disposable barbecue. Crews extinguished using knapsack sprayer.
