At 19:41 on Friday, 9 August, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Animal Rescue in Longford, Newport .

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Report of dog stuck in brook. Eight year old, male, Staffordshire Bull Terrier rescued from low level water by firefighter wearing flood suit and using general purpose line. Dog reunited with owner.
