At 17:30 on Saturday, 7 December, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Electricity Cable in Wem.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Prees.

One large tree which had fallen across road bringing down live electric cables. Crews cordoned off area and provided traffic management until Police, Highways and Scottish Power attended isolate electricity and make area safe.
