At 08:18 on Saturday, 21 December, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Craven Arms.

2 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: a vet.

One horse stuck in the river was rescued by fire service personnel using strops. The horse was left in the care of its owner.
