At 13:26 on Friday, 31 January, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Hazardous Substances in Wem.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wem.

Person inhaled small quantity of Calcium Oxide. Casualty in care of paramedics for assessment. Fire service took no action as chemical had been removed and area cleaned prior to arrival of Fire Service
