At 04:30 on Saturday, 19 April, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Persons Trapped In Soft Ground in Shrewsbury.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

One person assisted from river bank area using fire service ladder, left in care of ambulance service
