At 16:51 on Monday, 5 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

Bonfire measuring approximately 3 meters squared which was extinguished by crews using a hose reel jet.
