At 21:22 on Tuesday, 13 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Tree Fire in Newport.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Newport.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• 9/10.5m ladder
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet
• Thermal imaging camera

This incident involved fire within hollow trunk of 1 x 12m high tree.
