At 10:23 on Friday, 16 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Newport.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Newport and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Reports of house fire which involved small fire within solar panel which was out on arrival of fire crews. Fire crews used thermal image camera
