At 21:16 on Friday, 11 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Market Drayton.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Market Drayton and Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Rakes, shovels, mathooks

Fire involving approximately one acre of burnt field and adjacent hedgerow. Crews used two extended hosereel jets and drag rakes to extinguish the fire.
