At 15:45 on Saturday, 12 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Muxton.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Following the receipt of several reports that a hedgerow was smoking, fire crew determined on arrival that the incident was a false alarm due to a water irrigation system leak in nearby field
