At 19:00 on Tuesday, 15 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks

This incident involved an out of control bonfire that had spread to hedgerow. Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets and drag rakes.
