At 18:53 on Wednesday, 23 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Shrewsbury.

This was believed to be a bonfire but on arrival crews found it was a false alarm good intent due to person cooking in a lay-by.
