At 10:06 on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Wem.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wem.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Short extension ladder

Area of hedge on fire due to accidental spread from bonfire. Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.
