At 16:14 on Saturday, 13 September, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smell Of Burning in Ellesmere.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Ellesmere.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

Reports of a light having blown and smashed in the church. Crews checked the area using a thermal imaging camera and the area was isolated using small gear until an electrician is able to attend.
