At 14:21 on Wednesday, 8 October, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smoke In Area in Wem.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wem.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

Report of smoke seen in the vicinity generated by burning of waste appx. 9 meter square. Crews have extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet.
