At 20:18 on Friday, 16 January, 2026, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as AFA in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

This incident was found to be a false alarm, fumes from cooking had activated the alarm.
