At 20:57 on Saturday, 17 January, 2026, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Chimney Fire in Ellesmere.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Ellesmere.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Chimney rods
• Short extension ladder
• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

Chimney fire which crews extinguished using chimney rods and small gear. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.
