At 08:39 on Wednesday, 15 October, 2014, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Codsall Wood, Staffordshire.
4 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Telford Central and Wellington.
Assistance to Staffordshire Fire Service. ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION IN CODSALL Firefighters from Staffordshire and Shropshire have dealt with a road traffic collision on Boscobel Road, Codsall. The emergency call was received at 08:37 and the incident was attended by crews from Telford Central, Wellington and Brewood. The incident involved a collision between a car and a minibus. Firefighters were required to cut free one male casualty from the car, who was taken to New Cross Hospital. The driver of the minibus and three child passengers were also taken to New Cross Hospital. Firefighters assisted paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service to provide first aid to the other passengers from the minibus at the scene. Station Manager from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, Mark Weaver said: “On arrival at the incident firefighters and paramedics were faced with a number of walking wounded and so the priority was to identify which casualties required hospital treatment and which could be treated at the scene. Firefighters worked quickly to cut free the driver of the car who was trapped by the vehicle.” The final crews left the incident at 10.05am.
