At 12:31 on Tuesday, 25 October, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Shrewsbury.

This was a false alarm caused by a controlled burn. Please remember to call the fire service on 01743 260290 if you are planning to have a bonfire.

Build bonfires well clear of buildings and never use flammable liquids to start the fire. Before you light the bonfire, check that children and animals are not hiding inside and are a safe distance away. Don't leave bonfires unattended. Don't light bonfires in unsuitable weather conditions.
