At 22:58 on Saturday, 29 October, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Shrewsbury.

4 fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Baschurch and Shrewsbury.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

2 persons rescued from River Severn at base of riverbank using short extension ladder.
