At 17:47 on Tuesday, 27 December, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as AFA in British Telecom Building, Drawwell Lane, Wem.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wem.

Call to AFA which was found to be a false alarm as smoke from a nearby bonfire had entered the building and set off the alarm.
